De tijd om Windows 10 gratis naar binnen te harken is bijna voorbij, Microsoft gaat verder met het verbeteren van het OS en komt met nieuwe functies. Er komt op 2 augustus een Anniversary update naar je toe.
Deze update komt met verbeteringen en voegt wat nieuwe functies toe. De veranderingen zijn zoals beschreven op de website :
- Gaming: The Play Anywhere feature announced at E3 this year will makes its debut, allowing Windows 10 games to be played on Xbox One and PC with shared progress, achievements and saves. Play Anywhere games will be offered through a new unified Windows Store.
- Cortana: More than 1,000 apps were added today with Cortana personal assistant functionality. Xbox One users will also be able to instruct Cortant to turn on their console. She will also share data across devices and save frequently used information.
- Microsoft Edge: The new browser for Windows will get some major updates including power saving improvements, extensions and support for current web standards.
- Additional security features: Windows Hello for apps and Edge browsing can use fingerprints instead of passwords, with facial and iris recognition in the works. It will also let you use companion devices to unlock your PC. Windows Defender is also getting a boost, allowing users to schedule periodic scans, while getting better notifications if problems are found.
- Windows Ink: This new function allows users to sketch on screenshots and create sticky notes, while adding some functionality in other Microsoft programs such as Office and Edge.
