Één van de grootste onthullingen op de CES was een nieuwe service genaamd Sling TV. Onthuld door Dish Network, Sling TV bied je diverse live tv kanalen voor een bedrag per maand zonder verdere verplichtingen. De service kan op diverse manieren gebruikt worden inclusief een app voor de Xbox One.
“Sling TV is an over-the-top, television service that will deliver live sports, lifestyle, family, news and information channels, Video-On-Demand (VOD) entertainment, and the best of Internet video for $20 per month,” aldus de mededeling op Xbox Wire . “With Sling TV, there’s no commitment, contract, credit check, hardware installation, or hidden fees. Confirmed channels include ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, Food Network, HGTV, Cartoon Network, and Disney Channel with more to come. And Xbox One will be the exclusive gaming console when it launches in the coming weeks.”
Xbox Live members kunnen gratis gebruik maken van een trial van Sling TV als de service beschikbaar komt. Ook kan er een app worden verwacht voor iOS en Android.
