Er is al veel gezegd over de nieuwe PS5 controller, over het uiterlijk en de nieuwe Dualsense. De controller wordt dus niet enkel aan het uiterlijk flink aangepakt maar ook aan de binennkant, er zitten genoeg nieuwe features op namelijk. En mocht je PS5 games willen spelen dan zal je deze ook nodig hebben.
In een nieuwe bericht van Sony op de Playstation Blog laat men weten dat PS5 games niet gespeeld kunnen worden met de PS4 Dualshock controller. Dit is vaak wel standaard bij de komst van een nieuwe generatie, toch waren er mensen die de hoop hielden dat het mogelijk was. Dit omdat Microsoft de Xbox One controller compatible heeft voor de Xbox Series X. Wel is het mogelijk om PS4 titels op je PS5 met de PS4 controller te spelen.
Wat betreft andere accesoires, de Gouden en Platina headsets zijn bevestigd dat deze werken met de PS5, daarnaast zullen de Move controllers en de VR aim controller ook werken op ondersteunende games. De PS Camera zal ook werken, maar heeft wel een extra adapter nodig.

- Specialty peripherals, such as officially licensed racing wheels, arcade sticks, and flight sticks, will work with PS5 games and supported PS4 games.
- The Platinum and Gold Wireless Headsets, as well as third-party headsets that connect via USB port or audio jack, will work on PS5 (the headset companion app is not compatible with PS5).
- The DualShock 4 wireless controller and PlayStation officially licensed third-party gamepad controllers will work with supported PS4 games.
- Both the PS Move Motion Controllers and the PlayStation VR Aim Controller will work with supported PS VR games on PS5.
