In een interview gepost op het PlayStation Blog, laat Jason Schroeder senior producer bij Ubisoft San Francisco’s zich uit over hoe het ontwikkelings team omging met de invloeden van Matt Stone en Trey Parker bij South Park: The Fractured But Whole.
“They’re really, really involved,” zegt Schroeder. “We have daily calls and I’m down there a few times a month just constantly trying to make sure that they’re getting the comedy they want into the game and making sure that it all makes sense moment to moment.”
Het schrijven van een game is zo anders dan voor TV. Bij Stone en Parker komen hun beste ideeën vaak als de deadline dichtbij is, zo gaat een aflevering van South Park zo van concept tot product binnen een week. “It’s from that pressure that they get their really relevant, really timely jokes. The video game cycle, by comparison, is brutally long for them,” Schroeder explains.
