Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D gids voor alle maskers

by Mark van Truijen

Deku Mask

Effect: Transforms into Deku Scrub Link.

How to Find: Link is turned into Deku Scrub Link at the beginning of Majora’s Mask. After you meet the Happy Mask Salesman, go through all the steps needed to face off against Skull Kid on Day 3. Use Bubble Blast to knock the Ocarina out of Skull Kid’s hand, and play the Song of Time. Upon returning to the past, the Happy Mask Salesman will teach Link the Song of Healing, which will allow him to transform back into his normal self and use the Deku Mask at will.

Goron Mask

Effect: Turn into Goron Link.

How to find: After you obtain the Lens of Truth near Goron Village, Link will see the ghost of Darmani. Follow him through the next areas until he climbs a cliff that requires the Lens of Truth to ascend. Enter the cave and play the Song of Healing in front of Darmani to get the Goron Mask.

Zora Mask

Effect: Turn into Zora Link.

How to Find: Locate the dying Zora near the shore in Great Bay. The Zora, Mikau, should be pulled to shore, and then you’ll need to have Link play the Song of Healing to get the mask.

Great Fairy’s Mask

Effect: Pulls stray fairies in when exploring dungeons.

How to Find: Head to the Laundry Pool off of South Clock Town during the day, or in East Clock Town at night for the wandering fairy after Link gets the Deku Mask and returns to normal. Take this fairy to North Clock Town and enter the Fairy Fountain at the top of the ramp to form the Great Fairy, who will reward you with this mask.

Blast Mask

Effect: Can be used in place of Bombs by pressing the B button whenever it’s worn.

How to Find: Head to North Clock Town on the Night of the First Day around Midnight. Sometime around 12:30, the thief Sakon will try to steal a bag of bombs from an old lady, move in his way and use your sword to stop him. Link will receive this mask as a reward from the old lady.

Bremen Mask

Effect: Makes small animals march behind you by pressing the B button.

How to Find: Head to the Laundry Pool on Day 1 or Day 2. Speak with Guru-Guru (who looks like the windmill guy from Ocarina of Time) to get the mask as a reward for listening.

Kamaro’s Mask

Effect: Allows Link to dance by pressing B while wearing.

How to Find: Head out the North Clock Town exit into Termina Field. Move forward until you can see a mushroom shaped rock. If you come to this location any times between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM during any night you will see Kamaro dancing. Speak, and play the Song of Healing for him to receive the mask.

Mask of Scents

Effect: Wear to view scents visibly.

How to Find: After you complete the Woodfall Temple, return the Deku Princess to the throne room and leave the Deku Palace. Once you’ve left turn into the Deku Scrub and head west across the lily pads into the cave. Speak with the Deku Butler in this area and follow him to get the mask.

Bunny Hood

Effect: Allows Link to move much faster and jump further.

How to Find: With the Bremen Mask in tow head to Romani’s Ranch (make sure you’ve already cleared the giant rock). Head to the very back of the ranch and into the building on the far wall. Talk to the man inside then use the Bremen Mask to get all the young Cuccos to dance behind you, which will make them grow in size. After they’ve all grown up the man will give you the mask.

All-Night Mask

Effect: Allows Link to make it through one of Anju’s grandmother’s stories without falling asleep.

How to Find: Follow the same steps you did to get the Bomb Mask, then head to the Curiosity Shop to buy this mask for 500 Rupees at 10:00 PM on day 3.

Don Gero’s Mask

Effect: Allows Link to talk to frogs.

How to Find: Get the rock Sirloin from Goron City by lighting all the torches and then using the Goron Mask’s spin skill to fly into the moving chandelier. Once you knock the Sirloin down head to Mountain Village and find the Goron waiting up on the cliff. Throw the Rock Sirloin up to him to receive Don Gero’s Mask.

Stone Mask

Effect: Makes Link invisible to most enemies in the game.

How to Find: Unlike the original game, where you could grab this mask before the Pirate Fortress, this mask is now only accessible halfway through the quest. You’ll still need the Lens of Truth and a Red Potion, however. Head to the main area of the fortress and then into the middle. Look up near the tower — while wearing the Lens of Truth — in the center and you will find an injured soldier next to a crate. Give him the Red Potion to get the mask.

Romani’s Mask

Effect: Allows Link to enter the Milk Bar in East Clock Town.

How to Find: First, speak with Ramoni after gaining access to the ranch, and agree to help her defend the ranch from aliens. After you successfully defend the farm, you will be asked to ride along with them and defend their wagon. Once you make it to Clock Town safely you will be rewarded with this mask.

Circus Leader’s Mask

Effect: This mask lets Link speak to the Gorman Brothers to get different dialogue, while also removing the need to defend the milk wagon above from them in the mini-game.

How to Find: After you get Romani’s Mask, head to the Milk Bar on either the 1st or 2nd night. Speak with Toto, the Zora, and then use Link and the three main transformation masks (Deku, Goron, and Zora) to play the song he requests. After completing this you’ll be given the mask.

Garo’s Mask

Effect: Gives Link access to Ikana Canyon, and also causes Other Garo to appear and challenge Link to battle.

How to Find: After Link gets Epona, challenge the Gorman Brothers to a race. Beat them and you will receive this mask.

Mask of Truth

Effect: Allows Link to speak to Sheikah Stones and animals.

How to Find: Head to the Southern Swamp and enter the Skulltula House. Kill all the Skulltulas in the house and you will get the mask.

Captain’s Hat

Effect: Captain’s Hat

How to Find: Head to the graveyard in Ikana Canyon and find the giant sleeping skeleton called Skull Keeta. Play the Sonata of Awakening to awaken him and then follow him down the path. Defeat the enemies in your way and use arrows to slow him down. If you make it far enough Skull Keeta will start to fight, and once he goes down you should have Link speak to him to get the mask.

Gibdo Mask

Effect: Allows Link to speak to Gibdos.

How to Find: Learn the Song of Storms in the cave in Ikana Valley then play it to return the area back to normal. Head outside, and sneak into the nearby house once the girl leaves. Head into the basement and a piece of Gibdo will pop out. If you play the Song of Healing he will become human again and you will be given the mask as reward.

Giant’s Mask

Effect: Makes Link into a giant-sized version of himself, sadly it can only be used in the battle with Twinmold.

How to Find: Unlike the original game, this time around you don’t have to find the mask, instead it is given to you in the midst of the battle against Twinmold, and therefore cannot be missed in a playthrough.

Kafei’s Mask

Effect: Allows Link to look like Kafei. Useless except for the Anju/Kafei sidequest.

How to Find: Head to the Mayor’s House in East Clock Town to speak with Kafei’s mother. If you agree to look for Kafei, she will give you the mask.

Keaton Mask

Effect: Summons a Keaton that will give Link a quiz in Termina Field. It is also used in the Anju/Kafei sidequest.

How to Find: Play through the sidequest until you get Anju’s letter, then head to the back entrance of the Curiosity Shop on the second day around 4:00 PM. Deliver the letter to the owner of the shop to be given the mask.

Postman’s Hat

Effect: Link can look inside every mailbox.

How to Find: During the Anju and Kafei sidequest Link will eventually receive a piece of Priority Mail. Deliver the mail to the Postman, you can find him easily in his house in West Clock Town, and you will receive the mask as a reward.

Couple’s Mask

Effect: No use other than obtaining a Piece of Heart.

How to Find: Play through the entire Anju/Kafei siequest until you get this mask during the finale.

Fierce Deity Mask

Effect: Transforms Link into Fierce Deity Link. Can only be used during boss fights.

How to Find: Collect all 23 of the other masks in the game and you will receive this mask once you reach the Moon, prior to the final showdown with Majora.
